What is THCa

If THC(Delta 9) is the child, THCA is the parent. THCA itself is a non-intoxicating cannabinoid found in cannabis plants. When the plant is heated, the THCA is converted into THC—the main psychoactive cannabinoid most cannabis consumers are familiar with. This process is called decarboxylation, and it’s the scientific way of describing what happens when cannabis is “activated,” through heat. (Either by smoking or vaping, or heating ahead of time for homemade edibles.) Found in full spectrum cannabis products and isolated into several concentrated options.

The Entourage Effect

The entourage effect simply put, that it is not just one terpene, cannabinoid or flavonoid working to create the effect we all experience when consuming cannabis. Rather, it is every part of the cannabis plant that you get at once, down to those little individual molecules and compounds, which create a whole-body experience. Only in "full spectrum" products will the entourage effect be possible, even then combined terpenes will guide your experience more than just the THC or CBD percentages.Previously, it was believed that just THC or CBD was the cause of what we feel when experiencing cannabis. Now, as we better understand the chemicals within the plant, it stands to reason that not one but every part of the cannabis plant has a part to play in how we feel when consuming this wonderful plant.

All Natural THC

THCa occurs naturally in every cannabis plant, just in varying amount anywhere from less than 1% all the way up to 34% in some very rare cultivars. On our farm we have been sourcing rare and unique varieties that have and haven't been known for producing THCa and we have found several keepers under small batch testings. After crossbreeding phenotypes showing higher THCa percentages into other cultivars, we have been able to achieve tasteful flavors and enjoyable effects all across the board. Come into the shop today and learn more about THCa for yourself!

How is THCa Legal in Tennessee?

Under current Tennessee Code 43-27-101 (a.k.a. "THC" means delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol which has to be under 0.3%.

  • Delta 9 THC at or below 0.3% on all THCa products at the state required time and date in relation to harvest.
